She is soooo going to be a Soccer player!

I have gained four pounds over the past month for a grand total of 9 lbs during my pregnancy so far. Considering the baby now weighs about 2 of those pounds, I am not doing to badly.

At 26 weeks, Emmi is a very active little squirt, who wakes me up throughout the night with her never-ending acrobatics - I tried to explain to Chris what she was doing and how hard she could actually kick now, but he didn't quite understand it until last week............

I was laying on the couch, complaining about her tenderizing my inerds, and asked Chris if he wanted to feel? Chris laughed and placed his hand on the side of my stomach, just as Emmi hauled off and gave me a swift kick. Chris jumped a little, looked at me wide eyed, and said, "Holy S*%t! she is sooo going to be a soccer player- doesn't that hurt?"

I explained to him that it is really just annoying and uncomforatable, it doesn't really hurt, unless she starts beating on my bladder (which she does quite often), then it can be slightly painful and embarassing if I am not close enough to a bathroom! Being pregnant is a lot different than I ever expected!

BABY REGISTRY UPDATE: There has been some confusion over how to get to our registries, so.... click on the links below, and search the registries under ERIN BLACK - in CARLETON PLACE (or PERTH, as the location will be changing in a month).

and.... looks like one of Chris' friends may have found the diaper bag for us! Yay, and thanks! We picked up all the baby stuff we ordered, and love the pattern and colours - so the diaper bag will be a perfect addition.

Talk to you all soon,

Love Erin and Chris

Hello parents to be.

Rosemarie just called and she has received the diaper bag. Scott and her will be coming to Ottawa June 8 for a week and would like to give you the diaper bag as a baby gift... sorry, all gifts from now on are for my future granddaughter.
love, mom (excited granny Mary)

Hi Erin,

It's great to be able to see how you are progressing. You are looking really great!

I was browsing around on the net tonight and came across a journalistic account of home birth with a mid-wife present - complete with photographs! I thought you might be interested. The accounting is tastefully done, and while the photos are a bit graphic, they are not as bad as I thought they would be (having never been through child-birth experience myself, I was a bit nervous. Here goes:
